PB and Honey Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Description

No deprivation! Just an exercise in creativity. (Not to mention, fun to see the colors that come out when spinach and fennel are added.)

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen ripe banana
  • 1 unfrozen ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup organic soy milk
  • 1/2-2/3 cup organic frozen spinach
  • pinch fennel seed
  • 1-2 tbs Garden of Life Raw Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 2 tbs organic cocoa powder
  • 2 tbs organic PB (Maranatha celiac-safe and excellent)
  • 1 tsp organic PB
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 tsp raw honey

Directions

  • Add fennel and spinach to blender.
  • layer 1 tsp PB, protein powder, frozen and unfrozen bananas, and ice.
  • Add soy milk (if it's difficult to blend, add a bit more, or water).
  • Blend well. Blend and blend until utterly smooth. Sometimes, the spinach or seeds take a bit longer.
  • Pour into a tall glass or mason jar.
  • Dust with cocoa powder, additional protein powder, and PB and honey.
  • Serve immediately, or chill 5 mins to ice the top!
