Hemp Pancakes

On a short list of favorite breakfast foods, the pancake has got to be close to the top. But if you think you’ve tried all the different kinds of flapjacks, think again. Try adding this amazing recipe of hemp pancakes from Manitoba Harvest to your breakfast repertoire rotation. You won’t be sorry.


  • 1 cup of Hemp Hearts
  • 3 Tbsp. hemp oil
  • 1 cup organic whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1 cup blueberries (optional)


  1. Combine flour, Hemp Hearts, baking powder, soda and salt into bowl.
  2. Combine eggs, greek yogurt, honey, vanilla and water.
  3. Whisk in oil.
  4. Pour over dry ingredients.
  5. Use blender or mixer to mix to smooth consistency.
  6. Add the blueberries (if you are adding fruit to your pancakes).
  7. Cook on (buttered) pan/griddle (medium heat).
  8. Cook until tops are bubbly - turn and cook until browned.
  9. Add your toppings and serve.
